MISSION STATEMENT
I hope to make this little spec on the World Wide Web a place where parents can come and voice their displeasure with the adults put in charge and/or volunteer to coach & oversee youth sports. Every town has “that guy”, the type who takes their kids Park & Rec league a little too serious, his kids and his buddies’ kids get all the playing time and the prime positions. They have become a plague on this generations youth’s ability to enjoy sports for what they are. Gone are the days of the 3-sport athletes and instead replaced with year round training. Fall baseball starting at the age of 8, travel soccer for 7 year-olds, at least basketball seems like it doesn’t get too serious until 6th grade, but even then your dealing with the evil’s of AAU.
I have no question that these adults are passionate about what they do. But when it comes to Board members threatening to kick kids & parents out and intimidating & bullying coaches that’s were the line ends, and the time comes when those adults need to be asked to step away from the field. But what to do when the Club’s Board is full of the coaches friends and they see no problem with board members threatening behavior because as the president said, " There have been parents worse" and "he does alot for the club."
That is the reason for this site, these parents exist in all sports throughout every town in
Coaches feel free to chime in as well. The bad apples are few and far between, as a majority of parents volunteer due to their love & knowledge of the sport and the desire to pass that onto the next generation. The pressure parents put on us is sometimes a little overbearing as well, and I welcome those stories as well to show that a bit of civility needs to return to the fields across the country for all parties involved in putting on the games these kids enjoy so much.
It’s time the general public shows these overbearing adults that their act is old and tired and they will be exposed for the poison they truly are. I hope you come back to see the variety of antics that occur on the fields and gyms across the country. I am also taking nominations for the Coaches from Hell H.O.F. Feel free to send me your own stories for publish. News stories of coaches & parents behaving badly on the athletic fields are very welcome so we can start putting youth sports back in the perspective it belongs.
